How the calculation works

[pieces × finished length ÷ (1 − cloth loss) × (1 + warp take-up)] + outer waste + between-piece gaps

This tool gives length per warp end. It does not give the total yarn on all ends. A purchase reserve buys extra yarn but does not change the length already wound.

Worked example

For one 68 in scarf with 10% length loss, 5% warp take-up, and 24 in waste, wind 103.33 in (2.87 yd) per end. Sampling is additional; use the main planner to include it.
