How the calculation works

body ends = ceil(reed width × EPI ÷ repeat) × repeat; total = body + floating ends

This rounds the body upward so you do not silently lose target width. A draft may require additional balancing or border ends; enter a body width that accommodates those, or adjust your draft independently. This is not a draft validator.

18 in at 20 EPI gives 360 body ends. A 4-end repeat fits exactly; two floating ends bring the total to 362.
